Yo La I have is one of American indie rock bands most representative and influential of our time.
Ira Kaplan and Georgia Hubley, a husband and wife duo, formed the band in 1984. The training went through several lineups to set with guitarist Dave Schramm and bassist Mike Lewis with whom they released their first recording The River of Water. In 1986 they released their first LP called Ride the Tiger, and cemented his reputation with New Wave Hot Dogs, 1987.
With new lineup changes the following releases (in 1993 Painful, Electr-O-Pura in 1995 and I Can Hear the Heart Beating as One in 1997) marked a steady progress in the band, achieving a personal style, versatile includes some elements of folk, punk rock, pop shoegazing, long instrumental passages of noise guidance, and some approaches to electronics.
Painful was also the beginning of a fruitful relationship with producer Roger Moutenot, who has produced all the albums I have I ever since: And Then Nothing Turned Itself Inside Out 2000 Summer Sun in 2003, and I Am Not Afraid of You , Will and I Beat Your Ass 2006.
During these years I's I have consolidated as a cult, and thanks to constant touring and the unconditional support of the criticism, have become the most prominent American indie rock band.
